Call for Papers
Rare earth elements are the collection of seventeen chemical
elements in the periodic table, namely scandium, yttrium,
and the fifteen lanthanides. They are incorporated into
many modern technological devices, including superconductors,
miniaturized magnets, electronic polishers, refining catalysts
and hybrid car components. The use of rare earth elements
in modern technology has increased dramatically over the
past years. In order to promote rare earth science and technology,
the Chinese Society of Rare Earths is very glad to have
the honor to hold the 6th International Conference on Rare
Earth Development and Application (ICRE) , which will be
held in August 2010. The location of the conference is in
Beijing.
It can be expected that many new developments will be acquired
in the
coming years. ICRE-2010 will offer an opportunity for the
people in all
walks of life related to rare earths to get together and
to learn and
exchange information about new research results, new ideas
and to find
new opportunities for R&D programs and cooperation.
As a main
producer and supplier of rare earth raw material and products,
China is
always interested in what is going on in the field of rare
earths around the
world. The Chinese Society of Rare Earths (CSRE) has the
pleasure to
host ICRE'2010, which will be a great gathering of global
rare earth
scientists, engineers and business executives. All the friends
engaged in
the field of rare earths and related scientific and industrial
branches are
warmly welcome to join us and to contribute to ICRE’2010.
Scope
1. Rare earth new materials and applications: magnetic materials
and
magnetism, hydrogen storage materials and batteries, giant
magnetostrictive materials, high temperature superconductivity,
magnetic
refrigeration, magneto-optical materials, catalyst and macromolecule
materials.
2. Rare earth chemistry and physics: coordination chemistry
and
organometallic chemistry, bio-organic chemistry, solid chemistry
and
physics, physical chemistry, extraction mechanism and process
engineering, solution chemistry, molten salt chemistry,
electronic
structure and spectroscopy, analytical chemistry.
3. New developments of RE in traditional fields: new developments
of
application in iron and steel, nonferrous metals and alloys,
ceramics,
glasses, catalysts, agriculture, medicine and miscellaneous
fields.
4. Rare earth resources and metallurgy: Rare earth geochemistry
and ore
dressing, separation technology, hydrometallurgy, preparation
of metals
and alloys, preparation of high purity metals and alloys,
environmental
protection, production facilities, analytical and testing
equipments.
Proceedings
The Proceedings will be published as a special edition of
Journal of Rare Earths.
Presentation
The conference will include plenary lectures and contributed
papers. The contributed papers will be accepted as oral
presentations or as posters.
